I adore the ruffled table skirt and there will more than likely be a ruffled cloth in my future.

There are also images resulting in research for a baby quilt for Miss Carrie's little one.

I have 3 babies coming close together. One a boy - will be getting the cowboy quilt - almost finished. One unknown as of right now - that will be a crochet blanket because I can make that one generic.

I am busy making neckwarmers/scarves need several of these for Christmas so I won't bore you. Lannae will be modeling some for us after the weekend. I have had mixed reviews on the fun lariat style neckwarmer that I love. After she tries it on, we will see what you guys think.

Have a fabulous day.

I SEE PATTERNS EMERGING

eta - I received a note about the polyvore collages that the links in mine are not working properly to give credit to the appropriate people ( i think i need to go back to school on this one) I respect the all of the inspiring people out there so much that i will be deleting all of the collages until i can figure out how to fix the problem - I apologize to anyone who may have been offended. And I want to thank Jude at spirit cloth for letting me know there was a problem in such a kind and gracious manner. Please go see her beautiful work.

Okay - so the college freshman called last night. Seems there was a freak accident involving a shorted hairdryer, an electrical outlet, and a damp suitemate last night. Molly found her lying in the floor - unconcious - and burned on the side of her face. She is going to be okay, but it sure scared everyone.

I am having a blast assembling these image collages. I have now discovered that you can click on the collage and if you have imported the images the software gives a link back to the picture. Way cool.

I particularly love these images. The fabric square at the top right is my favorite, I'll be making an adaptation of these for a bridal shower centerpiece in the near future. These have an opening in the center and the creator refers to them as vases. I'll be making them with skirts to hold single flower stems in can's or jars. I'm thinking in various shades of fall and yes - I have PLENTY of fabrics to choose from.

I am still carrying that bag of crochet tag creations around. Great to work on in the heat. I am also cross stitching on the top secret project at night in my recliner and still moving and sorting and organizing in the studio. Nothing really photo worthy.

The title of this post reflects me organizing all of my inspirational photos in that computer folder into the wonderful pattern collages. I love the grouping of the items, making a family or themed presentation. You can play for free too -- http://www.polyvore.com/

Now I have to say - my favorite software (aka tools) online are as follows

http://www.blogger.com/
http://www.flickr.com/
http://www.polyvore.com/
www.google.com/reader
http://www.picnic.com/

you guys have any more links (time wasting websites) to share.

Have a wonderful day all.

I am learning how to make these http://www.polyvore.com/ image mixes. None of these photos are mine and unfortunately I owe a ton of people an apology for not having credits - I do know that the lower right hand image is from Dawn athe The Feathered Nest blog on my sidebar. If one of these images is yours - I will be happy to give credit.

I will be using this free software to make image collages for customers. I can't wait to email a sample to the other girls in showrooms throughout the company.

I called this one "rustic elegance" and this is me. The furnishing are faded - in naturals and neutrals - loving the his and hers bathtubs. and the mixed fabrics.

By all means --- go play. It is easy once you figure it out. I'll be making more of these for mood and inspiration collages.

Have a great day.

eta -- whew two days from you know where. I spent Tuesday afternoon preparing an hour long presentation for a meeting. One of the presenters had a family emergency and I was called on to produce. Then that meeting lasted all day on Thursday with a 2 and 1/2 hour drive home. Back to my desk today.

I am also catching some grief because of the meeting. There are going to be some changes in behaviors here and Some people are acting like children. I cannot make them understand that we have to respect the signature on the paycheck - even if we don't agree with all the rules.

Grown men acting like children is so freakin' stupid to me and I have wasted no time letting them know how I feel about that issue. Been a tough day with lots of ill temperaments going on.

MaggieGrace has not seen the light of day through all this, but I will this weekend. 3 hours of gate duty tonight. Three games tomorrow and ALL DAY ball tournament Saturday. I will finish a boatload of those crochet tags. (50 of them will head to Sweden next week)

Molly called this morning. I was more than ready to hear her voice on the phone. She is having a blast. I quote.

"trying new things, meeting new people, figuring out a schedule and I ran into a boy I went to elementary school with."

Two or three a day practices are going to leave very little time for getting in trouble. The calculus, chemistry, english, religion schedule is demanding too. She is planning on coming home Saturday. All her new buddies are leaving campus for the weekend. She has an early practice - then she will head home.

I hope this finds all of you having a wonderful week.

lonely perspectives

things
I made this mosaic this morning. All of the photos appear to me of lonely and forlorn and empty feeling. Looking for rest and peace in the midst of the storms.

16 days until the graduate becomes the college girl. The piles of lists are driving me nuts. The huge financial part of college is covered - this is now about the little stuff. We have to go through that list and see where we are.

The bills for Abby's er visit and surgery are starting to come in and I hate dealing with insurance companies.

I have made the man at my address angry more than once in the last several days (not even about big things, just stupid stuff). I am not sure why his feelings are so close to the surface - could it be that his little girl is going away????

I see no break in the near future. Softball mini tournament Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday next week. Field workday tomorrow. Then laptop shopping tomorrow night. Abby starts school the 7th and Molly moves away on the 10th. I'm running away the second after I drop Abby off at school on the 11th.

Balance - need it.

Quiet - after a church full of kids all week - desperate for it. Do not misinterpret that statement - VBS was a wonderful and enriching experience this week.

Perspective - I feel like that deer in the mist in that mosaic up there. Trying to see what's out there and not having a clue.

I want someone to take care of Mommy for just a little while - instead of mommy keeping the whole dang thing rolling in the right direction. I really want to scream "you can shop off the list, why the crap does mommy have to actually do the shopping - just buy what is on the d(*& paper. " I want decisions made for me. I want to not answer any questions that begin with the phrases "did you", "could you", "will you", "can I", "where is", "when are you". I want to sit down and have a real conversation over a meal that I didn't buy at a fast food joint. I want the people around me to think for themselves and not expect me to decide everything only to turn up their nose or verbally complain when I make a decision. I want my house clean and all the to do list checked off. (same thing at work) And can somebody please add money to my checking account or leave a bag of money on the table in MaggieGraceWorld.

Sorry - MaggieGrace is having a bit of an off day. The reality - I want to tell people to just leave me alone.

Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend.

My creation

I have no pictures from my weekend, so I give you a FLICKr mosaic made from my favorites. I did crochet a tremendous amount - another beanie hat - and a ruffled edging started on a baby blanket. Lots of good stuff, just no pictures. I also added another 75 cents to the UWIH box.

We had a tough weekend emotionally, a classmate of my girls was killed in an accident on Saturday night. Losing a teenager like this is always difficult. As of right now all of the details are unavailable, but details or not - parents and friends and relatives are mourning the loss. One of my customers committed suicide on Friday as well. Just a tough weekend.

I am off to do preop this morning. Detail meeting with the boss on Tuesday. Then happy trails for the princess. I am just really ready to be on the other side of this. The paperwork pile is down to just a few folders - and I have one appointment late this afternoon.

Molly spent time Saturday making the house "public presentable" - definition - she hauled all the junk to my bedroom and closed the door. Charles is home today - hopefully working on the studio. I have a meeting tonight so I will be late getting home. Then pack a bag and get ready for Wednesday morning.

I hope all of you have a wonderful day. Take a look at the picture below. What do you think of all these images?? I am particularly fond of the scrap nest.

I have no pictures on my camera today - so I jumped over to Flickr and created a mosaic.

Usually I can see a pattern to what I am attracted to in my favorites over there. Not in this one. I will say - the little house pendant is just adorable. I have a big jar of scrabble letters so I do believe I will make a few charms for the festival booth using this inspiration for tiny collage on the back of those.

I also adore the little tags in the first picture.

I did not craft through the ballgame last night. We moved the concession stand from one bulding to another instead. The heat is exhausting here right now so I simply read some and then went to bed.

Tonight we will be watching volleyball and then home from there. Maybe some creation tonight.

The first two weeks of school are always stressful because we are adapting our schedules and everything else. Trying to find a groove for all of us that will allow us to function somewhat normally.

I feel lost without creating. I feel overwhelmed with my schedule right now. I continually feel like there is something I have forgotten to do. And I have the other stressful (betrayal) situtation going on that is a continual exercise in forgiveness and letting go. I have had chest pains that are nothing but a stress reaction and my natural tendency to quit eating when this out of control feeling happens is being triggered right now. (that should be a good thing since I am trying to lose weight. It is bad only ecause I know that the anorexia reaction is about control not about healthy eating or weight loss. I really have to be careful of it. Eating disorders are horrible to become healthy after, an alcoholic can avoid drinking, but food is a neccessity and therefore you cannot separate yourself from the trigger item.)

See you guys tomorrow.

Wishing you a wonderful day.

mosaic monday 6-25-2007

Good morning all. My mosaic from pictures on Flickr last week. I can spot an emotional attraction to everyone of them.

The first picture is stunning to me in one of those surreal ways. It looks like such a lonely and desolate location, and yet is one I think I would be attracted to. Uncomplicated, simple, no-frills - the kind of ideal that would lead to appreciation of every breath and every accomplishment. Is that what we are all seeking?

I am feeling hurried today. I have a ton to accomplish at work, Vacation Bible School is every night this week. We go from that to a ball tournament on Saturday. I feel pulled in so many directions. There are lists everywhere. Maybe that is why this and the second picture are so appealing. A coworkers husband passed away over the weekend. 38 years old - sudden cardiac arrest - leaving a bewildered wife and children.

This building site, providing shelter for the few birds who fly in it's upper window openings. The foam from the surf remaining on the sand. Knowing that the wave has but one job - to pound onto the shore. Would I become bored? Would I long for something else? What do I need?

I took some time on Saturday morning and talked to a friend. We sat and talked and laughed and relaxed. Something we haven't done in a while and something we both needed to do. We both have incredible demands put on us - work and personal - so it was a great break. Then some time with my Mom - she needs my attention too. In such a way that I feel the pressure to give it. She is struggling so bad. I think I might need to wiggle my toes in the sand and drink those little drinks with umbrellas in them. Away from the demands of my life.

I could pretend to be a mermaid and wear that mermaid crown. This is one from the Crown and tiara swap I am participating in. I cannot wait to see what my partner is sending me. She has not posted a sneak peek yet.

The last picture is just cute. I would love to snuggle up under a quilt and rest. Why not one that looks as cute as all this? It is a baby quilt, but I think it could be enlarged as a porch swing quilt. I'll be hanging onto this image for a while.

I will leave you with a quote that I saw in a medication ad this weekend. A new medication for breast cancer survivors. The ad features a middle aged woman siting on a shoreline. The ad line.

"Doctors removed my lump not my SPIRIT."

I love this tagline. I clipped it and added it to my inspiration notebook. I chose to live my life after diagnosis with this attitude and to try and help others find this in their life with or without cancer. We also had a speaker yesterday at church who was just as inspirational. John Ediger - paralyzed as a teenager in a football game - spoke to us about how today is as bad as it gets - each day we are closer to eternity.

Yes this week will be a challenge, from many angles, but this too shall pass and every new moment is just that - NEW - and that means a new opportunity to have a positive impact on someone.

Have a blessed and wonderful day.

FRIDAY FAVORITES

Good morning everyone. A small flickr mosaic for you. I actually have a picture for today, but dear Molly scarfed the camera on the way out the door. So I chose a few of my favorites this morning and decided to mosaic them.

If you have not been to flickr it is a great place for inspiration and fun.

I received my package from Raesha's tag swap yesterday. It is spread out on the kitchen counter and I have really enjoyed my mix of tags. Being ever the hostess extraordinaire, Raesha sent a goodie gift also. (THANKS SO MUCH) thanks to all who participated.

I chose a few tags for my mosaic from a few places and of course the quilt back. This is similar to what I want to do on the backing for the Roy Rogers quilt.

No restful weekend here. Abby has a ball tournament. Then on Sunday there will be more work in MaggieGrace world. Having lots of money would help. We are trying to do this studio and not borrow money. Knowing that Molly will be off to school is keeping money at the front of our life right now. We are hoping for scholarships, but trying to plan as well. The result, a longer time frame on finishing. Yes I am excited, and it is taking shape, I would love to just call someone and have it finished, but it will be okay. This weekend, I am going to try and get the door from the house I grew up in to use for the studio door. A full lighted french door. Should be really pretty as the entry door.

I hope all of you have a great weekend. Drink a maragarita for me.

my first favorites mosaic

I spent some time this morning organizing my first mosaic. How much fun is this?

Flickr is so much fun and inspirational. Like a tear sheet file only in a cleaner format.

I do hope you will visit all these people. via the links on Flickr
I am working on window display ideas and I can see many coming together through these images.

I also put together a quickie to-do list of things I need to get done in the next few days. I really shoud do this more often - then maybe overcommitting will come to a halt (don't hold your breath)

Heres the list - in no particular order

Baby Cass gift

Baby Danuser gift

Corey ATC

Mail Scavenger Hunt

Grunge Swap 2

Mail April/May CIP Package

Fabric Challenge for MaryAnn

Mounted ATC

CIP projects - It really sucks when the facilitator of the group is this far behind.

I am so sure there are others but this is the quick list. At least we have no ball tournaments this weekend. Only a middle school semi formal dance. So maybe I will get some things accomplished off this list this weekend.

Using what I have is becoming a way of life for me. What is really scary about this process - I obviously have plenty to work with. I haven't spent 200 dollars on craft stuff in the last year. I am amazed. I plan to continue this approach as I continue this year. The other part of my life is that I have been gifted with some wonderful materials in this time frame as well. As I have become a better steward of materials, I have been given the gift of increased creativity and materials have come at just the right time to accomplish a project. Maybe it's time to read The Secret and see what else I need to focus on.

Thank yous are due to some wonderful people - so look tomorrow to see what the mail has brought.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.
